Suzuki GSX-8T & GSX-8TT Unveiled at Japan Mobility Show

Suzuki just brought a heavy dose of cool to the Japan Mobility Show 2025 with the global showcase of the GSX-8T. This isn't just another new bike; it's a stylish, modern machine with a classic soul, and it's packed with the proven performance riders already love.
The GSX-8T: A Modern Classic is Born
Take one look at the GSX-8T, and you'll see the past and present fused together perfectly. Its design is a clear nod to the legendary 1960s T500 "Titan." You get that timeless round LED headlamp, wide handlebars, and sleek bar-end mirrors. This bike has an instant classic look that stands out in a crowd. It’s built for riders who want style without sacrificing modern performance.
Proven 776cc Engine of GSX-8T
What makes this retro bike so exciting is what's inside. The GSX-8T is powered by the same fantastic 776cc parallel-twin engine that drives the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE. This liquid-cooled motor delivers a healthy 83 bhp and 78 Nm of torque. It's paired with a smooth six-speed gearbox. The best part? A bi-directional quickshifter comes standard. This means you can click through gears up and down without the clutch, making every ride feel more engaging.
Built for the Real World: Chassis and Comfort
Suzuki built the GSX-8T to be a confident and comfortable partner on the road. It uses a sturdy steel frame paired with an aluminium swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. This setup is designed for stable handling and a compliant ride over various road surfaces. It rolls on practical 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres. Despite its substantial feel, the bike manages a kerb weight of 201kg.
Tech for the Touch: Rider-Focused Features
Suzuki ensured the GSX-8T is as smart as it is stylish. The bike comes with a suite of electronic aids to enhance your ride. You get three selectable ride modes, allowing you to tailor the power delivery and engine braking to your liking. Traction control is also on hand to provide extra safety net on slippery roads. And, as mentioned, that bi-directional quickshifter is a welcome standard feature. Lighting is fully LED for great visibility and a modern touch.
A Surprise Twin: Meet the GSX-8TT Touring Variant
The show had another surprise—the GSX-8TT. This variant is designed for the traveler. It comes equipped with a tall windscreen and sturdy panniers right from the factory. This turns the stylish retro into a ready-made tourer, perfect for weekend getaways or longer adventures. It answers the question of versatility without any aftermarket hassle.
When Will the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT be Launched?
For now, these bikes are showcasers at the Japan Mobility Show. Suzuki has not announced any official plans for an India launch. However, with the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE already in Indian showrooms, there is a strong hope that the GSX-8T could arrive as a niche offering in the future. It would be a compelling option in the growing middleweight retro segment.
