A major shift is happening behind the scenes at KTM. The Austrian brand has officially ended its decades-long partnership with KISKA, the design studio responsible for shaping KTM's iconic aggressive look since the 1990s.

KTM has sold its remaining stake in KISKA. The design studio has been acquired by technology company Loxone GmbH. This decision comes after Bajaj Auto took full control of KTM, marking a significant restructuring under new ownership.

Why Did KTM Part Ways With KISKA?

The move is driven by cost control and tighter internal processes. Bajaj Auto reportedly wants to establish its own in-house design centre for KTM. This gives the brand more direct control over future design and development.

Where Will KTM's New Design Centre Be?

The new in-house design facility will be based in Salzburg, Austria. Interestingly, this is separate from KTM's development and production centre in Mattighofen. The location choice allows KTM to tap into Salzburg's creative talent pool.

KISKA's Role in KTM

KISKA was instrumental in building KTM's identity. Since the 1990s, it shaped not just the bikes but also the brand's strategy, communication, and apparel. The sharp, chiselled lines that define KTM's look today were largely KISKA's work.
